Keystone (Keisuke Nishi) MC-C
Rising star Keisuke Nishi is recognized as one of the top luthiers in Japan, putting him in an elite category of revered makers worldwide. Building under the name Keystone Stringed Instruments, Nishi's instruments are highly sought after, routinely selling out at international guitar shows in the U.S., Italy, Spain, and Japan.
As it happens, Keisuke (Kei) is a longtime friend of mine, so when the opportunity came to present one of his instruments in shop, I gladly obliged. This is Nishi's MC-C model, a Sitka spruce and mahogany, auditorium-sized cutaway. While versatile, it truly excels is as a modern, fingerstyle guitar. Officially "new old stock" this instrument has been tucked away for several years, and is now available on the open market. This is a rare opportunity to acquire one of Nishi's instruments at a tremendous value. (Nishi's newest offerings command literally thousands more!)
Some of Kei's signature details include: a Florentine cutaway; butterfly bridge with a gorgeous, wide bone saddle; scalloped, bone nut; and walnut headstock veneer. Gold Gotoh tuners, flamed maple binding, and a lovely, understated rosette complete what is a refined visual aesthetic.
Call for more details, or better--come by to check it out firsthand.
Martin O-16NY (1965)
SOLD
Just in on consignment this beautiful Martin O-16NY! This guitar just recently passed the half-century mark, and looks pretty amazing for its age. These are surprisingly versatile little guitars, able to be fingerpicked or strummed pretty aggressively. Excellent, open, resonant sound out of this one. Very good condition, no cracks, and just the usual wear, some back scuffs. Clear pickguard added.
